Our first commission for this chair was for eighteen side chairs and two carvers for South Devon. We have since had a further commission for a set of twelve chairs for Leicestershire. These chairs were originally designed to echo the design cues of the Archway Table. The client wanted a set of small, understated dining chairs that were 'sturdy enough to withstand a lounging teenager'. Their impact was to be in a matching set of twenty rather than flamboyant design. They were keen that they should be comfortable and that they should never have to re-upholster them in their lifetime, hence the traditionally upholstered leather seats.
